Marlene Miller

Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor: Level 3

Marlene began the practice of Iyengar Yoga in 1975 and has been teaching Yoga since 1979 on the Saanich Peninsula and in Victoria. In 1982 she went to Pune, India to be taught by the yoga master Sri B.K.S. Iyengar, and family. Since then has made several journeys back to India, the most recent being December 2015. Her dedication, commitment and practices of yoga are pursued through continuing to attend classes and workshops with senior Iyengar teachers locally, nationally and internationally. She has also studied intensively the yoga teachings of Swami Sivananda Radha. Marlene is a teacher trainer with the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Victoria, an active member and Assessor of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada, and a founding member of PenYoga serving on its board of directors.

Nancy Searing

Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor: Level 2

Nancy began studying Iyengar Yoga with Marlene Miller in 1994 and has taken classes with all of the senior teachers at the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Victoria. She has also studied with many national and international Iyengar Yoga teachers including, Geeta and Prashant Iyengar. Nancy had the amazing opportuntiy of studying with the Iyengar family in Pune, India five times, most recently in the February of 2015. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Peninsula Yoga Centre.

Jayne Jonas

Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor: Level 2

Jayne began studying Iyengar Yoga in 1992 with Joan White, who holds one of the very few advanced teacher credentials given by Guruji, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. She moved to lovely Victoria in April 2006 and has since taken classes with all of the senior teachers at the Victoria Yoga Centre. She has also studied with many national and international Iyengar Yoga teachers. Jayne had the opportunity of studying with the Iyengar family in Pune, India on several occasions. Jayne is teaching at both our studio and the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Victoria.

Linda Larson

Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor: Level 1

Linda began her yoga study at the age of 56 when she was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. After 4 months of daily practise using books she discovered the Peninsula Yoga Centre and the Iyengar method. She started taking one class a week while maintaining a daily home practice. Aware of the tremendous benefits yoga brings her she asked to pursue teacher training so she could pass on the technique and discipline to others. A yoga practitioner remains a life-long learner and as such Linda continues to study with local and visiting teachers. Linda earned her Introductory II certification in 2012 at an assessment held in Roberts Creek, BC.
